Srinagar: In a significant development, the students of Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) Srinagar demonstrated remarkable skill and confidence during a debate and painting competition organised at Kashmir University (KU) to commemorate Earth Day.
As per the handout issued here, Aesha Kathjoo secured the first position in the debate competition while showcasing exceptional articulation and critical thinking. She was felicitated with a certificate of merit and a cash prize of Rs. 2000.
Also, Ayat Azeem impressed the judges with her eloquence and secured the fourth position in the competition. She was felicitated receiving a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 500.
The painting competition centered around the theme of Earth Day in which Hanan Wani secured the third position, earning accolades for his creativity and environmental sensitivity.
He was awarded a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 500.
Chairman GVEI, Mohammad Yousuf Wani extended heartfelt congratulations to the winners and applauded their dedication, creativity, and excellence.
He highlighted that such achievements reflect the ethos of GVEI where students are nurtured not only academically but also encouraged to develop a strong sense of social responsibility and leadership.
“Our students have once again proven that with determination and the right guidance, excellence is inevitable. We are proud of their achievements and look forward to see them reach even greater heights,” he said.
The management also acknowledged the efforts of the mentors and faculty members whose guidance and encouragement played a vital role in preparing the students for such a prestigious platform.
Notably, the Earth Day was celebrated by the Department of Earth Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare, University of Kashmir on Friday.
The event was hosted at the Media Education Research Centre (MERC) of the University and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across leading institutions of the valley.
The prestigious event was graced by distinguished personalities including Dean Academic Affairs KU Prof. Peerzada Sharif-u-Din, Registrar KU Prof. Naseer Iqbal, Dean Students Welfare Prof. Parvez Ahmad and Dean School of Earth Science Prof. G H Jeelani.
