Jammu: As part of ongoing efforts to ensure food safety and safeguard public health, the Adjudicating Officer under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA) in Jammu has imposed a fine of Rs 1.79 Lakh on various commercial establishments for violations of food safety nor
The penalties were levied on manufacturers, distributors, and retailers found guilty of selling or distributing substandard and misbranded food items in the district.
The enforcement authorities have urged all food business operators to comply with the prescribed guidelines under FSSA 2006 to avoid punitive measures. Citizens can also report food safety violations by calling the toll-free number 104 or messaging on WhatsApp at 9484002101.
