Srinagar: In a solemn tribute to the 26 civilians killed in Tuesday’s terror attack in Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday directed all government employees across the Union Territory to observe a two-minute silence at 3:30 PM today.
In a post on X, office of J&K CM wrote as per news agency JKNS, In light of the tragic killing of innocent civilians by terrorists in Pahalgam, all government office employees across Jammu and Kashmir are requested to observe a two-minute silence at 3:30 PM today as a mark of respect and solidarity.
Cabinet Meeting This Evening, All-Party Meet Likely on Thursday
In a parallel development, sources told JKNS that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has called a special cabinet meeting this evening at 6 PM to deliberate on the Pahalgam carnage and its fallout, especially on the tourism sector, which forms the backbone of the Valley’s economy.
Most of the victims in the Pahalgam attack were tourists enjoying the spring season in the picturesque meadows of Baisaran.
Government sources further indicated that an all-party meeting is also being planned for Thursday to develop a joint response to the crisis and reinforce unity among political stakeholders amid growing public anxiety. —(JKNS)
