Poonch, Apr 23 (JKNS): In a fresh breach of the ceasefire understanding, Pakistani forces resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Tattapani area of Poonch district’s Mendhar sector late Tuesday night.

Official sources told news agency JKNS that the firing began without provocation and continued for a brief period.

However, there have been no reports of any casualties or material damage on the Indian side so far.

Army sources confirmed that Indian troops gave a “befitting response” to the ceasefire violation and the situation is currently under control.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the region following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. Security forces remain on high alert across Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
