J&K High Court Bar Association Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack

Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Srinagar (Regd) has issued a strong condemnation of the terrorist attack targeting innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Describing the incident as a “cowardly and heinous act of violence,” the association expressed profound anguish and solidarity with the victims’ families.

In a press note released today, the Bar Association denounced the attack as an assault not only on individuals but on the spirit of Jammu and Kashmir, a region renowned for its hospitality and harmony. “This shameful act has no place in a civilized world,” the statement read, emphasizing the need for swift justice. The association extended its deepest condolences to the families of those killed and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Adv Waseem Gul, President of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association Srinagar, demanded a thorough and expeditious investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, their supporters, and facilitators. “Those responsible must face the severest consequences under the law,” the press note stated, urging authorities to ensure the rule of law prevails.

The association called on the people of Jammu and Kashmir to remain united and reject forces of violence and division. It reaffirmed its commitment to peace, justice, and the protection of human rights, pledging support for efforts to safeguard the safety and dignity of all citizens and visitors.

“We will continue to advocate for a society where peace and the rule of law triumph over fear and violence,” the statement concluded. The Bar Association reiterated its resolve to stand against terrorism in all its forms and to champion the cause of justice.
