Jammu, Apr 20 (JKNS): An unidentified pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a speeding vehicle near Rah Salyote along the Jammu–Sunderbani NH-144A on Saturday late evening.

An official told news agency JKNS that the incident occurred on Saturday evening when an unknown vehicle, being driven in a rash and negligent manner, hit the pedestrian while heading towards Sunderbani.

The injured person was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Sunderbani but later succumbed to his injuries, official said.

A case FIR No. 76/2025 under sections 281 and 125(a) of the BNS has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor, official added.

The body has been shifted to the mortuary at GMC Jammu for identification, and further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
