Jammu: Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Dr. Devansh Yadav on Friday issued directives to all departmental officers and officials to stay on high alert in view of the heavy rains and storm forecast for Jammu.
Special instructions were given to transport officers to ensure the prompt removal of fallen trees, poles, and other damaged infrastructure/debris from roads to prevent any untoward incidents. “There should be no loss of life or property during this period,” the Commissioner emphasized.
The heightened alert applies specifically to Zones 1, 2, and 3, with the Corporation actively monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts to ensure public safety.
To support citizens during this time, JMC has provided two dedicated helpline numbers for emergency assistance: 94697 48042, 94193 72824. Residents are advised to stay indoors during severe weather and to report any emergencies or infrastructure-related issues to the helpline numbers provided.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation is committed to the safety and well-being of its citizens and urges everyone to remain vigilant and cooperate with local authorities.
It is also pertinent to mention that separate JMC teams have surveyed affected areas, identifying fallen trees and damaged infrastructure. These teams are actively engaged in clearance and restoration work across roads and lanes in the city.
