Srinagar 19 April 2025(JKNS): A shocking truth has surfaced where among 700 Overseas recruitment agencies only 6 are authorised/registered with Ministry of External Affairs and have licence to operate as well as recruit.
Recent years are flooded with videos of victims who share their heartbreaking story on social media detailing how they were misled or even trafficked under the pretext of Work visas or how they accepted their fate of working for bare minimum wage abroad.

After seeing an Advertisement on a local social media channel regarding a famous overseas recruitment consultancy we gathered facts from this consultancy and travelled 60kms from Srinagar to Baramulla namely Al-Khaleej overseas PVT LTD , they failed at providing answers of how they are actually working and recruiting people if they aren’t registered under Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Young kashmiri youth desperate for employment opportunities abroad are being traded under the guise of work visas .

According to government data the MEA mandates that any agency dealing with overseas recruitment must register under the eMigrate system and also has repeatedly warned people about fraudulent luring tactics, moreover one should be vigilant in times of desperation and research before investing money.
Moreover money earned from these recruitment scams is not taxed and most of these consultants don’t pay GST over it making it more questionable.

Authorities are urging job seekers to verify credentials of any recruitment agency before falling into the pit.

In this regard Ministry of Home Affairs has issued notices repeatedly to Divisional Commissioner& DGP rank officials ( a copy of which lies with us) but no action is yet to be taken against illegal workplace of these consultancies. In this regard Ministry of External Affairs/Office of the Protector Of Emigrates, Chandigarh has issued notices on 27-04-2023 to DGP J&K and another notice to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on 08-05-2023 via same office ( a copy if which lies with us ) warning people about the fraudulent consultancies duping money from people but no action is yet to be taken against illegal workplace of these consultancies. In the recent development the Protector of Emigrates, Chandigarh, Ministry Of External Affairs issues another notice on 09-04-2025Complaint against illegal/Un-registered agencies for conducting unauthorized interviews in violation of Emigration Act, 1983 , that says

It is bring to your kind notice that an information has been received in respect of following illegal/Un-registered agencies, which conducting interviews (online or offline) continuously for overseas recruitment in violation Emigration Act, 1983 namely Al Jumeirah consultancy, Al-husaini Travels
Al-hadi Overseas and Imperail Education And Placement Consultancy.

Irony is even after being under the guidelines of operating a round table interview was held this morning at 19-04-2025with 300 or more individuals waiting in line to be scammed by agents after our intervention they license holder of a consultancy directed illegal ones or we can say sub agents to leave.—(JKNS)
