Kulgam: Municipal Council Kulgam, in collaboration with the District Administration Kulgam, on Thursday organized a mega awareness programme under Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan at the Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Kulgam.The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan.
Addressing the occasion, DC said that drugs not only ruin individual lives but also disrupt families and communities. He further highlighted various initiatives undertaken by the district administration to curb the menace of drug addiction, adding that a fully functional Drug De-addiction Centre is operational in Kulgam to provide support and rehabilitation to affected individuals.
Resource persons also deliberated on the theme and shared valuable insights on the psychological, social and legal aspects of substance abuse, as well as strategies for prevention and community engagement.Adding a creative touch to the programme, artists from Yadgar Music and Art presented a thought-provoking skit on drug abuse and its impact on youth and society. The performance was well-received and left a strong impression on the audience.The event saw active participation from officials, students, civil society members, and the general public. ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri; JDP Zahid Sajjad; SDM, Bashir Ul Hassan and other officers also attended the programme.
