Srinagar: In compliance with the directions of the Director, Fire and Emergency Services, Alok Kumar, (ADGP), and in light of recent forest fire incidents, a joint skill exchange programme was organized on Thursday as part of observance of Fire Service Week 2025.
The event was held at Fire Headquarters, Batamaloo, under the overall supervision of Assistant Director Command Srinagar, Aqib Hussain Mir.
The primary objective of this initiative was to enhance coordination among key stakeholders viz. Fire and Emergency Services, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the Forest Department.
The programme aimed to promote mutual understanding, reinforce inter-departmental collaboration, and build operational synergy in responding to forest fire emergencies.
The event featured expert-led training sessions delivered by experienced trainers and subject matter specialists from the participating departments. These sessions were designed to impart technical knowledge, best practices, and discuss coordinated response strategies.
Following the training sessions, a joint mock drill was conducted under the guidance of Adil Zargar, Sub Officer and Parvaiz Ahmad, LFM to translate the theoretical concepts into practical application. This exercise provided an opportunity for all departments to demonstrate and refine their coordinated response mechanisms, thereby ensuring enhanced preparedness and efficiency in combating forest fires.
