Kulgam: In a bid to regulate the sale of Schedule H1 Drugs and to streamline the records by way of digitization, a special drive was conducted by the team of Drug Control Officers along with Police Officials in various areas of Kulgam.
About 15 Chemist shops in areas of Nehama, DH Pora and Watoo, Asnoor were inspected. During the drive several Drug samples of different brands were lifted for ascertaining the quality standards.
Operation of three chemist shops was disallowed for violating the conditions of licenses.
Earlier in the day, a representative from the Drug Control Department delivered an elaborate lecture in an awareness programme on the topic Drug/substance abuse, its genesis, role of the Drug deptt. and collaborative approach by the student and teacher community to circumvent this growing menace.
The mega awareness camp was held at Degree College Kilam Kulgam and was organised by Dist. Administration Kulgam in collaboration with other line departments.
