When asked about the challenges posed by narco-terrorism, Birdi said the department deals with the drug menace on a “mission mode” and is determined to take stringent action against those involved.

“In the last two years, we’ve significantly intensified our crackdown against drug peddlers. A large number of FIRs have been registered, many accused arrested, and their properties seized as per legal procedures,” Birdi said,

“Such action is aimed at setting a strong example and safeguarding the society from this threat,” he said.

Birdi said the police remain committed to providing a safe environment so that people can move, work, and live freely. (JKNS)
