DC assesses patient care scenario at Associate Hospital GMC Doda

Doda : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Associate Hospital, Government Medical College (GMC) Doda to assess healthcare facilities and general patient care scenario in the District’s premier health institution.
During the visit, the DC took a round of the Hospital and inspected the Pediatric Ward, ICU, Cardiac Care Unit, Orthopedic Ward, Dialysis Unit, Surgical Ward, Medicine Ward, Emergency Ward, and the Control Room. He also inspected the Casualty Medical Officer office, Matron Office, and Emergency Triage Room.
The DC Doda took note of the cleanliness and hygiene standards in the hospital and emphasized the need for regular and thorough cleaning of all washrooms, bathrooms, wards, and common areas. He stressed on maintaining high standards of sanitation for the safety and well-being of patients and staff alike.
He also reviewed the functioning of the Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY registration counter and checked the attendance and functioning of the GMC staff room. Directions were issued to ensure proper attendance and accountability of hospital staff.
The Power Development Department (PDD) was asked to carry out necessary electrical repairs in the hospital premises on priority.
In addition, DC Doda issued specific instructions to security personnel deployed at the hospital to remain vigilant, especially in critical areas such as emergency wards and entry-exit points. He asked security staff to ensure round-the-clock presence, proper visitor management and coordination with hospital administration to maintain a secure and patient-friendly environment. Security staff was also advised to maintain daily activity logs and promptly report any unusual activity to the concerned authorities.
Later, DC Harvinder Singh, accompanied by SSP Sandeep Kumar Mehta inspected the police post located adjacent to the Associate Hospital. The DC and SSP inspected all rooms and issued directions for necessary repairs and maintenance to ensure proper functioning of the post.
