Kulgam: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive review of the progress made in implementation of self-employment generation schemes in the district.
During the meeting, DC took stock of the existing employment schemes being implemented by different departments in the district including DIC, Employment, JKEDI, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Handloom, Handicrafts, Cooperatives, KVIB and WDC.
Khan emphasized upon the banks to speed up the disbursement of credit to all the approved cases at the earliest.
He enjoined upon the officers to cover all the unemployed youth identified in the baseline survey of Mission Yuva so that they can earn their sustained livelihood.
Earlier, the AD Employment gave a detailed powerpoint presentation regarding the different employment generation schemes implemented including PMEGP, PMFME, IDDS, HADP, KVIB, EDI, Mumkin, VishwaKarma, Mudra, KVIC and others.
Directions were issued to all agencies to ensure public outreach so that more and more youth are enrolled in these schemes, and also ensure time bound disposal of the applications.
The meeting was attended by GM DIC, CAO, CHO, CAHO, DSHO, District Officer KVIB/KVIC, AD Handicraft/ Handloom, District LDM and District Manager WDC.
