Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has achieved a significant breakthrough in a theft case reported on March 30 this year by arresting the culprit in Kupwara. Police Post Bazaar had received a written complaint about the theft of batteries from tippers and trucks parked at Regipora.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting promptly, a case under FIR No. 88/2025 under Section 303(2) IPC was registered at Police Station Kupwara besides initiating investigation
Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, one suspect, identified as Bilal Ahmad Khan, resident of Town Kupwara was detained and subjected to sustained questioning, Stating therein further that upon the confession of the said accused 23 stolen batteries were recovered from a concealed location in presence of the concerned Executive Magistrate, thereby reinforcing the credibility and transparency of the recovery process.
Stating that investigation is underway and further arrests and recoveries are anticipated as the case progresses Police in its statement further said that recovery underscores its commitment to act swiftly against theft and criminal activity, ensuring the safety of public property and maintaining law and order in the region.
