Budgam: Employees of the Jammu and Kashmir Saakshar Bharat Mission (JKSBM) on Tuesday staged a silent protest in Budgam, pressing for the regularization of their services and the release of their long-pending honorarium.
The protesting employees, who were engaged under the centrally sponsored scheme in 2011 to enhance literacy across Jammu and Kashmir, expressed deep concern over their uncertain job status and unpaid dues for the past 18 months.
Speaking to news agency JKNS, the aggrieved employees said they have dedicated over a decade to improving literacy, especially in rural and underserved areas, but are now grappling with financial hardship and a lack of job security.
Their key demands include immediate regularization of services, release of pending honorarium, and absorption into government departments or a Special Recruitment Order (SRO) to secure their future.
The protestors urged the government to acknowledge their contribution to the education sector and take concrete steps to address their grievances without further delay. (JKNS)
