Shobha Yatra takes devotees on a spiritual Journey, Highlighting harmony, Religious Reverence
POONCh: The festive spirit of Ramnavmi resonated vibrantly in Poonch as residents celebrated the occasion with great religious fervour and enthusiasm.
A grand Shobha Yatra, organized by the Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch in collaboration with other religious organizations, commenced from Geeta Bhavan and traversed through the Main Bazaar, culminating at the Khakha Naban Mandir before returning to Geeta Bhavan.
Dignitaries present at the occasion included Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal; SSP Shafkat Hussain; Tehsildar Haveli, Azhar Majid; Naib Tehsildar, Parkash; along with religious heads from the DGPC Poonch and Ramdas Sewa Society.
The Deputy Commissioner and SSP greeted the people on the eve of Ram Navmi, emphasizing the festival’s significance.
The Shobha Yatra was preceded by Jhankis (decorative displays) originating from several local temples, including Jhallas, Mangnarh, Radhey Sham Mandir Dungas, Suthra Bawli, Guru Niwas, Prachin Shiv Mandir Power House, and Nai Basti, all converging at Geeta Bhavan to join the main procession.
The highlight of the Shobha Yatra was a beautifully adorned chariot representing Lord Rama, serving as the centre of attraction. The procession attracted a large turnout of devotees, who were welcomed at numerous arches along the route with offerings of refreshments and fruits.
Participants engaged in Bhajan Kirtan, culminating in their arrival at Khakha Naman Temple, where they performed prayers before retracing their journey back to Geeta Bhavan.
To ensure the safety of all participants, comprehensive security measures were implemented. The celebrations concluded with a Vishal Bhandara, further fostering a sense of community and devotion among all attendees.
