Floriculture Deptt. Kashmir launches Capacity Building Program for Growers

SRINAGAR: In a significant initiative to empower floriculture growers and entrepreneurs, the Directorate of Floriculture, Kashmir launched a comprehensive Training, Exposure, and Interaction Program for the year 2025-26.
The program is aimed at equipping stakeholders across Kashmir with advanced skills, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable practices in the floriculture sector.
The initiative includes a series of expert-led workshops, interactive sessions, and exposure visits.
Some of the major components include Advanced Cultivation Training, Pest and Disease Management, Water Use Efficiency, Best Cultural Practices, Market Connectivity, New Varieties Exposure and Networking Opportunities.
The initiative aims to improve livelihoods and boost floriculture as a sustainable industry, promote eco-friendly cultivation methods, enhance the competitiveness of Kashmir’s floriculture sector in both domestic and international markets and encourage entrepreneurship and innovation.
The training programs and exposure visits will be held monthly at the Directorate and district levels, following a detailed calendar to be released by the Directorate. Growers and entrepreneurs are encouraged to actively participate as per the schedule.
This initiative reflects the Floriculture department’s commitment to supporting the floriculture community with modern techniques, resilience-building, and market readiness.
