Jammu: Jammu Police on Saturday said that they arrested a drug peddler and recovered 25.42 grams of heroin (Chitta) during patrolling at Asrarabad Khad near Govt. Primary School in Sidhra.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office, Jammu Police said that the suspect, identified as Rashid Latief, S/O Abdul Latief, resident of Gulshan Nagar, Ragroora, attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence. However, the police team acted swiftly and nabbed him on the spot. Following the recovery of the narcotics, a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota, and further investigation is underway. Jammu Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement have reiterated its ommitment to eradicate drug-related activities and have urged the people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement to help maintain law and order.
