Army Para Athletes Shine at 2nd Khelo India Para Games 2025

Para Athletes of the Army Paralympic Node (APN), Bombay Engineer Group & Centre, Khadki, and the Army Marksmanship Unit delivered an outstanding performance at the 2nd Khelo India Para Games, held in New Delhi from 20 to 26 March 2025.

A total of 24 Para Athletes represented the Indian Army in Para Athletics and Shooting, securing an impressive 15 medals, including:
4 Gold, 7 Silver, and 4 Bronze.

Demonstrating exceptional resilience, indomitable spirit, and competitive dominance, the athletes showcased their prowess with clean sweeps in two events — F-57 Shot Put and T-64 200m — securing all three podium positions in each.

Among the standout performances, Gunner Naresh clinched two Gold medals in T-64 200m and 400m (blade category), while Naik Rajvir secured two Silver medals in the T-64 100m and 200m events. Sapper Shubham Juyal added to the medal tally with a Silver in F-57 Shot Put, finishing ahead of Paralympics medallist Subedar Hokato Sema, signalling the emergence of a promising new generation of Army Para Athletes.

In Shooting, Naib Subedar Amir Ahmad Bhat won a Silver medal in the 25m Pistol event, and Sepoy Anandhakrishnan H earned Silver in the 50m Rifle Prone event, reaffirming the Army’s growing excellence in Para Shooting disciplines.

The Indian Army’s continued commitment to nurturing talent through initiatives like the Army Paralympic Node and Mission Olympics was evident through the athletes’ spirited and disciplined performances at this national-level event.
