IGP Jammu, IG CRPF Inspect Ongoing Kathua Encounter Site

Kathua: IGP Jammu and IG CRPF on Thursday visited the encounter site in Kathua to take stock of the ongoing anti-terror operation.

Officials told news agency JKNS that senior officers, including IGP Jammu and IG CRPF, have been closely monitoring the situation on the ground.

Earlier, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists. As they moved in on the suspected location, the forces came under heavy fire, triggering a fierce exchange.

During the gunfight, SDPO Border DySP Dheeraj Katoch, along with four jawans, sustained injuries in the Suffain area of Kathua.

The anti-terror operation remains active, with additional reinforcements deployed to the site. Further details are awaited. (JKNS)
