Bike Rider Killed, One Injured in Khanpeth, Pattan Road Accident

Srinagar: A bike rider lost his life and another person sustained injuries in a road accident at Khanpeth Pattan involving a tipper and a motorcycle.

An official told news agency JKNS that the accident occurred between a Tipper bearing registration number JK01L 0305 and a bike bearing registration number JK15A 2738, driven by Qamar bin Hashim, son of Hashim, resident of Anderkoot.

He was accompanied by a pillion rider, Zeeshan Hussain Malla, son of Zafar Hussain Malla, resident of Shilvat. The bike rider, Qamar bin Hashim, died on the spot, while the pillion rider was referred to SDH Pattan for treatment, official said.

The body of the deceased has been shifted to SDH Pattan for medico-legal formalities.

Official said adding, Police have apprehended the driver his tipper has been seized taken to Police Post Mirgund.

Cognizance has been taken under relevant sections of the BNS, and further investigation has been initiated. (JKNS)
