Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah Friday expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire that broke out in the Kadipora area in Anantnag, destroying over a dozen houses.
Dr. Farooq urged the Anantnag district administration to promptly assist the affected households with necessary relief and compensation. He commended the efforts of the F&ES, Anantnag Police, CRPF, Army, and local residents for their swift action in containing the fire. Dr. Farooq emphasized the importance of providing temporary housing and food to the affected families, as well as conducting a prompt assessment to determine appropriate compensation distribution.
Meanwhile on the instructions of CM Omar Abdullah, Health Minister Sakina Itoo visited the fire affected in Anantnag and assured the victims that J&K government will ensure that all their needs will be taken care of. She assured them that the government is with them in this hour of need. She was accompanied by MLAs Altaf Ahmad Wani and Ab Majeed Larmi. Furthermore, MP Mian Altaf Ahmad also echoed Dr. Farooq Abdullah’s call for the distribution of compensation to affected households through various central and UT schemes.
