Gaza: At least six children were killed in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, Palestinian sources said Friday.
Local sources and eyewitnesses told Xinhua that the Israeli attack has destroyed large parts of the apartment.
Medical sources told Xinhua that several others were also wounded in the attack, who, together with the bodies of the dead, were taken to the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City.
Eyewitnesses said relatives of the dead children, some of whom torn to pieces and at least one less than one year old, rushed to the hospital, while women screamed and cried.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the attack.
Israel resumed strikes in Gaza starting Tuesday after its ceasefire deal with Hamas that began on Jan. 19 unraveled. Israeli troops later launched ground operations in southern, northern, and central Gaza.
According to the Civil Defence in Gaza, at least 11 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza on Friday, including the six dead children, meaning the death toll from the renewed Israeli strikes in Gaza could have topped 600, in addition to more than 1,000 wounded.
