Srinagar): A 3-year-old girl lost her life after being hit by a speeding truck in the Peerbal Frisal area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.

An official told news agency JKNS that a truck bearing registration number JK05 AB 9876 hit the girl near her home in Peerbal Frisal.

The deceased has been identified as Zainab Junaid, daughter of Junaid Ahmad Sofi, aged 3 years, a resident of Frisal.

Police reached the accident spot immediately and arrested the driver. The truck driver has been identified as Umer Rehman Mantoo, son of Ab Rehman Mantoo, a resident of Janjikulla Yaripora.

Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
