E-buses have capacity to run 80-90 kms only on full charge:- Govt

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday said that e-buses have the capacity to run around 80-90 kms only on full charge.

Replying to a question of Satish Sharma, Transport Minister as per news agency JKNS said that presently, JKRTC is operating Diesel buses on Jammu-Machedi via Billawar and Jammu-Sukrala Mata Surinsar Mansar.

He said that presently, e-buses fleet available with the Corporation are only meant for city operation as said buses have capacity to run on short distance routes covering distance of 80 to 90 Kms on full charge basis.” He said.

He added that the distance between Jammu to Billawar is 248 Kms while Jammu to Shri Sukrala Mata via Dayalachak & back is 252 so starting e-buses on such routes won’t be easy.—(JKNS)
