Food Safety Inspections continue in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, MARCH 19: In compliance with the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, a team of the Food Safety Department conducted extensive inspections and sampling in various areas of Srinagar City.
The team led by the Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Srinagar along with Food Safety Officers collected samples to check the quality parameters of food items, ensuring they meet the safety standards outlined in the Food Safety and Standards Act.
The team inspected the HMT, Tengpora Bemina and other areas to ensure that food establishments in the areas maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitary conditions. Also Wholesalers in the market comply with food safety regulations and standards.
The primary objective of these inspections is to guarantee that consumers receive quality products that adhere to food safety standards.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar has directed the Food Safety Department to ensure that all Food Business Operators (FBOs) in Srinagar comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act and maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitary conditions in their premises.
The FBOs operating in Srinagar District are directed to comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act, failing which strict action will be initiated against defaulters.
By conducting regular inspections and enforcing food safety regulations, the Administration is committed to protect public health and promote a culture of food safety awareness among FBOs and consumers alike.
