JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the status of road construction and the traffic movement on the National Highway stretch in Ramban.
The meeting attended by DIG Traffic, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Project Director NHAI Ramban, SSP Ramban, SSP NHW Ramban held threadbare discussion on the identified issues for smooth traffic movement on the under construction stretches of National Highway 44 in Ramban.
The Divisional Commissioner sought the details of points that suffer traffic congestion as the construction works are ongoing at some points and due to difficult terrain in the hilly district.
The Div Com asked the PD NHAI to ensure meticulous planning while also increasing the men and machinery for early construction of the National Highway. He further directed him to repair the potholes that occur due to rain on such part of the National Highway for ensuring unhindered movement of vehicles.
The Project Director apprised the Divisional Commissioner that smooth riding surface will be ensured by the first week of April at Nashri-Dalwas stretch. He further assured the damaged road of NH stretch in Mehar will be repaired.
Stressing the significance of keeping the National Highway through with double lane traffic, the Div Com directed the traffic department and NHAI Ramban to keep their men and machinery activated for reporting the congestion and resolving issues at the earliest.
