BUDGAM: The District Administration Budgam has stepped up efforts to clear legacy waste and conduct special cleanliness drives across rural areas of the district.
These initiatives aim to improve sanitation and ensure cleaner public spaces across the district.
As part of the ongoing cleanliness drive, Block Development Officers carried out waste clearance activities in different areas.
The BDO S.K. Pora led a major drive from the railway flyover in Magam towards Russu, focusing on removing accumulated waste along the route.
In Chadoora, the BDO supervised the cleaning of SBM-G assets in panchayats halqas of Jawalapora and Buchroo to enhance sanitation in these areas.
In Beerwah, the BDO undertook the clearance of legacy waste sites along the main road from Beerwah to Aripanthan.
Special attention was given to ensuring that no visible waste remained on public roads, following the launch of a special drive launched by District Development Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo a few days back.
The administration has urged the public to participate actively in maintaining cleanliness in their localities. The drives will continue to ensure effective waste management and better hygiene across Budgam.
