DC reviews status of Model Panchayats in Kishtwar District

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan chaired a comprehensive review meeting to evaluate the implementation of Model Panchayats in the district. The initiative, spearheaded by the DC, aims to saturate 82 key developmental indicators in 13 identified Model Panchayats. The goal is to use these Model Panchayats as a framework to replicate the developmental model across all 136 Panchayats in Kishtwar.
A detailed presentation of key indicators was given by ACD Kishtwar Phulail Singh during the meeting.
The meeting included a detailed panchayat-wise review and specific directions were issued to ensure the effective and timely implementation of various developmental activities. A particular emphasis was placed on the beautification of chowks within the Panchayats.
The DC stressed the importance of setting up Anganwadi Centres (AWCs) in the upcoming financial year, directing the Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kishtwar to make land available for the establishment of these centres across the District.
The DC also urged the Rural Development Department (RDD) field functionaries to enhance awareness at the grassroots level to facilitate better implementation. A special focus was placed on the health sector, with key indicators such as achieving 100% institutional deliveries and addressing tuberculosis. A clear timeline was set to achieve the saturation of all key indicators, with efforts directed toward closing any existing gaps in developmental targets.
All key indicators including Self-help groups, Ladli Beti Scheme, Plantation drives, Renovation of traditional water bodies, Geotagging of water bodies, Intensive afforestation, PMAY-G, Solarization under PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, Health and Development Program (HADP), Fisheries, Accidental claims, Nasha Mukt Abhiyan camps and Aadhaar seeding were reviewed in Panchayats, including Lower Chatroo-A, Badhat, Lachdayaram A, and Baghna C were reviewed during the meeting. These areas were assessed for their adherence to the key developmental indicators.
The DC emphasized the importance of conducting regular visits by district and sectoral officers, along with field functionaries, to the Model Panchayats to ensure timely execution of the developmental plans. He highlighted the need for collaboration, innovation and collective effort to accelerate progress, ensuring that these Model Panchayats serve as benchmarks for the entire district.
The meeting was attended by senior officers including PO ICDS/CEO KDA Rishi Kumar Sharma, CPO Shahnawaz Bali, ACR Idrees Lone, ACD Phulail Singh, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, DIO Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, AD FCS & CA, BDOs, CDPOs and other key officials from various sectors.
