Doda : The District Administration Doda in collaboration with Dronacharya Chenab Sports Academy and Green Model Higher Secondary School Doda inaugurated the 1st Chenab Valley Girls Sports Competition on Tuesday. This premier event, held under the banner “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao,” aims to empower young female athletes while fostering teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.
The tournament which runs from March 18 to March 24, 2025, will take place at multiple locations across District Doda.
The Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest alongside Hasnuddin Pathan, National WASH Expert, NJJM, DDWS, Ministry of Jal Shakti, GoI, Tehsildar Doda Dr. Shad, District Social Welfare Officer Tariq Qazi and District Youth Services & Sports Officer Pritam Singh. The event also witnessed the presence of Principal GMHSS Doda, Executive Engineers from PHE & PWD (R&B), and other distinguished dignitaries.
This high-energy competition features a diverse range of sports, including Archery, Basketball, Kho-Kho, Fencing, Volleyball, and Cricket. It brings together young female athletes from across the region, providing them with a platform to showcase their skills and compete in an encouraging and inclusive environment.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Doda Harvinder Singh emphasized the importance of women’s participation in sports, extracurricular activities, and competitive examinations. He also announced that the Doda Administration will organize similar events for male students to promote healthy competition.
Additionally, the administration has collaborated with Aakash Institute to provide free coaching NEET aspirants in Doda.
