Tulip Festival: Div Com reviews arrangements for opening of Asia’s largest tulip garden

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri today convened a meeting to review the arrangement for the opening of Asia’s largest Tulip Garden and to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors during Tulip Festival season.

Situated at the foothills of Zabarwan, the Tulip Garden is the most favorite destination of tourists in the month of April and shall be opened for the public in the last week of March as the 17.5 lakh tulip bulbs have started to bloom gradually.

Addressing the meeting in this regard, Div Com directed a massive publicity campaign for the opening of the famous Tulip garden, time slot and online booking of  tickets by the visitors for which link will be available at the official website of the floriculture department.

Meanwhile, he urged the floriculture department to keep the garden open from 6:00AM in the morning to 8:00PM in the evening.

Div Com directed SMC officials to conduct regular sanitation drives to keep the garden and surroundings clean from littering besides instructed for  installation of an adequate number of dustbins at the garden.

He also directed SMC to make the existing toilet block functional and ensure availability of Mobile Toilet Vehicles outside the garden.

Div Com emphasised for efficient management of parking spaces at Botanical Garden to accommodate maximum number of vehicles and instructed SSP Traffic for smooth traffic management particularly during holidays & Sundays when the footfall of tourists & local visitors increase enormously.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi ud Din Bhat; Director Floriculture, Shakeel ul Rehman; SSP Traffic Srinagar, Muzaffar Shah; Joint Commissioner SMC, besides other officers of the floriculture department.

 

Chief Justice administers oath of office to Additional Judges as Judges

JAMMU, MARCH 17: Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Tashi Rabstan, today administered the Oath of office to Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Justice Rajesh Sekhri and Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Additional Judges, as Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, in the Chief Justice’s Court Room, Jammu.

The oath taking ceremony was attended at Jammu by Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, Justice Sanjay Dhar, Justice Puneet Gupta and Justice Mohammad Akram Chowdhary while Justice Atul Sreedharan, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Justice Rahul Bharti, and Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi participated online from Srinagar.

The proceedings of the oath taking ceremony were conducted by Shahzad Azeem, Registrar General, who read the contents of the Notification received from Government of India, Ministry of Law & Justice, Department of Justice (Appointments Division), the Warrants of Appointment issued by the President of India and the Letter of Authorization issued by the Lieutenant Governor, Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, authorising the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, to administer the Oath of office to Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Justice Rajesh Sekhri and Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani.

The ceremony was also attended by Former Judges of High Court, Chief Secretary, UT of J&K, Deputy Solicitor General of India, Jammu, Secretary to Government, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Member, Central Administrative Tribunal, Principal District Judge Jammu, Inspector General of Police, President, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, Members of the Bar, Senior Advocates, Officers of Civil and Police Administration and Officers and Staff of the Registry.
