The Div Com sought the details from the District Administrations regarding arrangements related to supply of and stock position of essential commodities, besides status of power, water supply and sanitation around religious places and major junctions in the districts.

Directions were issued to designate nodal officers and magistrates to facilitate the smooth celebrations by ensuring clear roads for processions and religious gathering while devising meticulous timing and proper planning.

IGP Jammu directed the SSP to keep a strict check on traffic violation and ensure adherence to road safety rules, especially by youngsters riding two wheelers.

The stakeholder departments were asked to make available all necessary arrangements and take precautions to make the celebrations convenient and smooth.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs apprised the meeting on the advance arrangements made regarding route finalisations, market regulations including check on overpricing, profiteering and black-marketing, besides awareness drives for obeying traffic rules in their respective districts.

IGP Jammu directed the police officials to remain present on ground during the festivals. Directions were also issued for adequate deployment of security forces to maintain law and order across the division.
