Work on Satwari to Last Morh Gandhi Nagar Flyover  takes off

Traffic Police issue diversion plan to facilitate hassle free construction

JAMMU: The Traffic police have issued an advisory for commuters mentioning diversion of traffic movement in view of construction of flyover from Satwari Chowk to last Morh Gandhi Nagar, which started from today (March 11, 2025)

“As intimated by Project Director NHAI, PIU- Jammu, the construction work of flyover from Satwari Chowk to last Morh Gandhi Nagar will be undertaken by the concerned executing agency from March 11, 2025. In this regard, the tube coming from Satwari Chowk towards Last Morh Gandhi Nagar shall remain restricted for the movement of General Traffic during the said construction work. Hence for ensuring hassle free movement of traffic, the traffic diversions have been placed on ground,” an official handout stated.

As per diversion plan, all interstate vehicles coming from Samba/ Kathua via Kunjwani, Gangyal bound for Jammu City shall be diverted from Satwari Chowk towards MH Hospital Road – Beli Charana – 4th Tawi Bridge – Asia Crossing / Canal Head and further towards their destination.

Similarly, all kinds of vehicles coming from R.S Pura, Miran Sahib and adjoining areas bound for Jammu City shall be diverted from Satwari Chowk towards MH Hospital Road – Beli Charana – 4th Tawi Bridge – Asia Crossing/ Canal Head and further towards their destination.

The traffic plying on the road stretch from Bikram Chowk upto Satwari Chowk shall remain through for one way traffic movement however the traffic plying will be diverted from last Morh Gandhi Nagar in the Right Tube towards Satwari Chowk.

The traffic coming from 4th Tawi Bridge bound for Satwari side shall not ply via Beli Charana rather shall be diverted to Ware House – Asia Crossing – Last Morh Gandhi Nagar and towards Satwari Chowk.

The General Public has been requested to cooperate with District Administration and Police to maintain better traffic management.
