Srinagar,: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi (IPS) chaired a security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir, emphasizing the need for heightened vigilance, intensified patrolling, and improved public engagement across the region.
As per news agency JKNS, the meeting was attended by range DIGs, District SSPs, SO to IGP Kashmir, JDP ZPHQ, SP PC Srinagar, and other senior officers. District officers provided updates on recent security trends, highlighting the need for proactive strategies to maintain stability and preparedness.
IGP Kashmir directed officers to strengthen territorial control, intensify area domination exercises and night patrolling, and enhance intelligence coordination to counter potential threats. He also emphasized the need for efficient policing at Police Stations and Sub-Divisions, ensuring better record-keeping and high-quality investigations with consistent follow-ups at the trial level.
Stressing people-sensitive policing, IGP Kashmir urged officers to prioritize public grievances while fulfilling operational and crime-related responsibilities. He concluded the meeting by commending officers for their commitment and directed them to submit follow-up action reports within a set timeframe to ensure the effective implementation of security measures.
