Tourism Directorate issues advisory for Hoteliers

Jammu: In an Advisory issued by it here on Saturday, the Tourism Directorate JK has asked the Hotels, Lodges, Homestays, individual houses, universities, Hospital, Hostels, institutions and others to submit the details in Form C to the Registration authorities within 24 hours, if they provide accommodation to foreigners at their premises. This will help the registration authorities in locating and tracking the foreigners, it said.
“Section 7 of Foreigners Act 1946, outlines that online Form C is a mandatory form that needs to be filled up for all foreigners by Hotel keepers, Home stays, Guest Houses and others, on government site indianfrro.gov.in/ boi.gov.in. Moreover, non-conformity to the above directions can attract imprisonment for a term which may extend to 5 years and shall also be liable to fine- under section 14 of Foreigner’s Act 1946” the advisory stated.
The Form-C must include details of the visiting foreigner guests like Arrival and departure date; Photo ID proof of all the foreigners; Detail of Valid travel documents which includes valid Passport and Visa; Purpose of visit (to be added under remarks column); Name of Indian reference with mobile number; Further tour programme with next destinations to be visited.
Any person hosting a foreign guest for monetary consideration is required to submit form C. This also includes Foreigners on Tourist visa, Business visa, Visiting visa, Employment visa, Medical visa, conference visa, project visa, intern visa, research visa, Journalist visa etc.
The Host shall maintain separate Visitors Registers mentioning correct arrival/departure dates and timing of the foreigner.
In case of any suspicion or default on the part of Foreigners checked in to the respective Hotels, Lodges, Home Stays and Guest Houses etc. the owners can inform immediately to CID SB Jammu Control Room on telephone Nos. 0191-2584375, 0191-2582621, 6005504514, 8825097826.
