Srinagar: Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), J&K, Khurshid Ahmad Shah on Thursday took a detailed review of implementation of JJM in Jammu & Kashmir through virtual mode.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Department Kashmir and Jammu besides Superintending Engineers Hydraulic circles and Executive Engineers of all divisions including their counterparts of Mechanical Engineering.
The Mission Director enquired about the completion of schemes and various components under JJM which have achieved more than 75% progress in each division.
The chair was informed that these components will be commissioned. It was also informed that some works have been stalled due to land issues and in some cases the forest department has stopped work inspite of payments already made to the concerned.
The MD directed the officers to maintain proper coordination between departments and officials so that stalled works are started soon.
Shah also highlighted the discrepancies in scheme completion and Har Ghar Jal reported and certified villages.
The meeting was informed that due to prolonged dry weather the supply got reduced which caused the delay in reporting and certifying these villages. It was assured that with recent rains and snow the sources have been replenished and the process of Har Ghar Jal certification will gather pace in coming days.
The meeting concluded with directions to field officers and managers to gear up and give fresh impetus to the works stalled due to winters.
