Jammu,: The Jammu and Kashmir government has confirmed that notices have been issued for 269 unauthorized constructions in Pahalgam over the past two years.
As per details available with news agency JKNS, the government, in response to a question raised by MLA Waheed Ur Rehman Para in the Assembly, stated that the Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA) is responsible for monitoring and addressing unauthorized constructions within its notified areas.
“The Pahalgam Development Authority has issued notices for 269 deviations based on permissions granted by the Building Operations Controlling Authority (BOCA). However, the majority of these cases involve PMAY and residential houses of locals that fall under the jurisdiction of the concerned authority,” the government said.
The PDA has been conducting demolition drives whenever necessary to curb illegal construction activities in the area, the government further stated. (JKNS)
