Srinagar: The fasting month of Ramadan for the Islamic year 1446 will commence on March 2 in Jammu and Kashmir as no reports of moon sighting were received.

Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam told news agency JKNS that no credible evidence of the crescent moon sighting was reported from any part of J&K. “Therefore, the first day of Ramadan for the Islamic year 1446 will be observed on Sunday,” he said.
