DC reviews progress of renovation work at Sports Stadium Doda

DODA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing beautification and renovation works at the Sports Stadium Doda, here today. The visit aimed to assess the current status of various projects designed to enhance the stadium’s infrastructure and aesthetics.

During the inspection, the DC evaluated key components of the renovation, including the development of the cricket pitch, improvement of the drainage system, pavilion refurbishment, and the installation of Kota stone in the seating areas. He emphasized the importance of adhering to quality standards and completing the projects within the stipulated timelines.

The DC issued directives to the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work while ensuring high-quality construction. He highlighted the necessity of installing the main gate of the stadium before the upcoming Republic Day celebrations to ensure security and facilitate smooth access during the event. Additionally, he instructed officials to renovate the main stage in the pavilion area and complete the railing work around the stage to enhance safety and aesthetics.

Accompanying the DC during the visit were officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), Power Development Department (PDD), the stadium’s management team, contractors, and representatives from the Youth Services and Sports Department. Their presence underscored the collaborative efforts being made to upgrade the sports infrastructure in Doda, aiming to provide improved facilities for athletes and spectators alike.
