Jammu: Anand Jain, ADGP Armed J&K on Friday interacted with the Mountain Rescue Team of J&K Police and NDRF personnel presently undergoing training at Nud Samba and also held Darbar of officers/ officials of IRP 12th Bn.
During his visit, the ADGP Armed had a thorough discussion with core members of JKP MRT and highlighted various issues and stressed meticulous planning to make the JKP MRT more vibrant and effective. ADGP inspected the Mountain Rescue equipment and watched the live demonstrations exhibited by the MRT personnel in Rappelling at Rock Area, Ascending at Rock area, stretcher making, slithering and Burma Bridge. The J&K Police Mountain Rescue team is imparting 15 days Specialized MRT refresher course (2nd Batch) for 34 Police Personnel of different units of AP/IR Battalions, and 15 days Specialized MRT Refresher Course (1st Batch) for 40 NDRF Personnels at Nud Samba under the command of Insp. Ram Singh I/C MRT of J&K Police. J&K Police MRT is also imparting training to NDRF personnel in various categories including Mountain climbing, Rescue/ Search operations alongwith live demonstrations, and Rescue of civilians trapped in avalanches and other calamities.
Later on, ADGP Armed J&K visited Battalion Headquarters of IRP 12TH bn and was presented Guard of Honour by a smart contingent of IRP-12TH Bn. The ADGP inspected various branches, Barracks, Mess, MT Fleet etc and also held Darbar of Officers/officials of the said Battalion and gave a patient hearing to the issues put forth by the jawans. On spot instructions were imparted for redressal of the genuine demands put forth by the personnel. The Darbar was aimed to take the stock of the functioning and welfare of jawans of the unit. The ADGP appreciated the efforts of officers and jawans of the battalion for performing their assigned duties with dedication. The ADGP Armed highlighted various welfare measures initiated by the Government for J&K Police. All the supervisory officers were stressed for timely redressal of the grievances of jawans.
The ADGP asked the Commandant and Company Commanders to pay special emphasis on the physical and mental health of the jawans saying that they should be provided hygienic food. He advised the jawans to take care of their physical and mental health by following routine outdoor activity. It was also enjoined upon that course on New Criminal Laws be expedited at Battalion level.
