Jammu: Indian Army troops on Wednesday violated truce along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistan troops this evening resorted to unprovoked firing on the LoC in Poonch,” sources said.
They said that Indian Army troops gave befitting reply to the cross border firing.
No injury or casualty was reported in exchange of fire on own side.
On Tuesday two Army personnel were killed in a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Akhnoor sector.
On Monday, an army jawan sustained a bullet injury along the Line of Control in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
He received injury in suspected firing from across the border, they said.
On Feb 8, Indian troops effectively retaliated to the firing by suspected terrorists along the Line of Control in Rajouri district.
Meanwhile on the intervening night of February 4-5, a major infiltration was foiled when a group of suspected terrorists believed to be killed in a landmine explosion on the Line of Control in Battal area of Krishna Ghati Sector in Mendhar area of Poonch district.
