Sports develop life skills, improve mental health, promote physical fitness: Sat Sharma

IDPS hosts 12th JK UT Rope Skipping Championship

Jammu: Sports help development of life skills, improve mental health, and promote physical fitness. It helps bring laurels to the self, family, region, and nation and caters to the economic aspect, stated Sat Sharma.
Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP, was addressing in 12th J&K UT Rope Skipping Championship, organized by Rope Skipping Association of J&K in International Delhi Public School, Ghoumanhasa.
The opening ceremony, held with great enthusiasm, saw the participation of more than 20 prestigious schools from across the region.
Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Also present were MLA Surinder Bhagat MLA Marh, Tarun Uppal (Advisor, Rope Skipping Association), Danish (Working Secretary, Rope Skipping Association), Parshotam Amit Manhas (President Hindu Vahini Akhand Bharat J&K), Adil Manhas (Spokesperson BJP Youth Wing J&K) whose presence added to the grandeur of the occasion.
Sat Sharma highlighted the emphasis of Modi government on the development of sports and sports industry which is helping the sportspersons and the entrepreneurs related to the field. He also asked the young children to actively pursue sports as the career option along with the hobby and the leisure activity.
Sat Sharma commended the young athletes for their enthusiasm and dedication, emphasizing the significance of sports in fostering discipline and resilience. He also applauded International Delhi Public School, Ghoumanhasan, for its unwavering commitment to promoting sports and providing a platform for students to excel beyond academics. He said that the championship continues to be a testament to the school’s dedication to holistic development, inspiring young minds to push their limits and achieve excellence in sports.
Earlier, Siya Singh and Vandana Sharma, alongside Principal Sahrish Ismaily and Vice Principal Mubeen Butt, welcomed the guests.
