Udhampur: A special police officer was held with heroin in Udhampur district of Jammu division on Tuesday.
An official told news agency JKNS that a police Team of Police Station Udhampur led by its SHO while performing Patrolling/checking duty near SKPA Udhampur area intercepted one suspicious person, who on seeing police party tried to escape from the spot but was apprehended by the police party.
On the frisking of said apprehended person namely Michael Jackson (SPO posted at DPL Udhampur) S/O Raju R/O Christian Colony, Udhampur, he said.
The police team recovered 5.95 grams of Heroin like contraband substance from the accused person who has been arrested on the spot, he added.
In this regard, A Case FIR No. 41/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur, he said.
Further investigation of the case is underway.—(JKNS)
