JU Cultural Contingent flagged off for Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival

Jammu : Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu, Prof. Prakash C. Antahal flagged off a 52 Members contingent from the University of Jammu for 38th Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival to be held at Panjab University, Chandigarh from February 01-05, 2025. The team comprises of students from the University and its affiliated colleges, who first excelled at the Zonal Level Display Your Talent and later at the Inter-Zonal Display Your Talent organized at the University of Jammu. The North Zone Youth Festival is being held under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
The flag-off ceremony was held in the presence of Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof. Monika Chadha, along with faculty members and university officials.
Addressing the students, Prof. Prakash C. Antahal lauded their achievements and emphasized the importance of cultural and literary events in shaping well-rounded individuals. “Participation in such prestigious platforms provides students with an opportunity to showcase their talent, interact with peers from different participating universities, and gain valuable exposure. I am confident that our students will make the university proud with their performances,” he remarked. He also encouraged them to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship, and represent the university with dignity.
Prof. Monika Chadha, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, extended her best wishes to the participants, stating, “This festival is not just a competition but a celebration of talent and creativity Our students have worked hard to reach this level, and I am sure they will leave a lasting impression at the North Zone Youth Festival. Such events are integral to holistic learning.”
The contingent, led by Dr. Abdul Rashid Manhas and Dr. Tsering Yangzom, will compete in various cultural and literary events during the festival. They are accompanied by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor), who is looking after the coordination.
The students selected for the North Zone Youth Festival underwent rigorous training sessions after their success at the Inter-Zonal Display Your Talent, ensuring they are well-prepared to compete at the Zonal level.
The events are organized under the stewardship of Prof. Prakash Antahal, Prof. Monika Chadha, Dr. Sarika Manhas Co- Campus Cultural Committee, Dr. Pritam Singh (Associate Dean SW), Dr. Harleen Kaur & Dr. Ripudaman Parihar (Assistant Deans SW), Mansi Mantoo (Officer Incharge, SW), Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) & Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer), Kulbhushan Thakur, Balwant Singh, Arif Paul, Sachin Sharma, Jatinder Singh, R.P. Singh and Jasbir Singh.
