The largest gathering was witnessed at Asar-e-Sharief Hazratbal, situated on the picturesque banks of Dal Lake, where the Holy Relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), also known as the “Moie-e-Muqadas,” was displayed before the devotees. The shrine, which holds immense significance for Muslims in the region, was the focal point of prayers, drawing an enormous crowd of men, women, and children who participated in the night-long prayers, or “Shab Khawani.” These prayers, held during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, included special supplications, seeking blessings, peace, and prosperity for the region.

Following the Fajr (dawn) prayer, the Holy Relic was displayed to the gathered worshippers, followed by after zuhr prayers, a moment that added to the spiritual atmosphere and drew even more devotees to the shrine.

The relic was made available for public viewing after each prayer, and this tradition will continue for the next two days and on the following Friday, drawing worshippers from far and wide. The relic’s display remains a key highlight of Mehraj-ul-Alam, and it serves as a source of immense spiritual reverence for the faithful.

In addition to Hazratbal, other mosques and shrines across the valley, including the renowned Jenab Sahab Soura, also hosted prayer functions throughout the night. Local communities came together in unity, praying for the well-being and peace of the region. The atmosphere in these places of worship was filled with spiritual fervor as the faithful united in devotion to mark this sacred occasion.

Authorities ensured that all necessary arrangements were in place to accommodate the large number of devotees. A key measure included the deployment of Srinagar Smart City Buses, which were pressed into service to ferry worshippers from various parts of Kashmir, including Srinagar, to Hazratbal Shrine. These buses helped manage the influx of devotees and facilitated their transportation, ensuring they could partake in the prayers and experience the spiritual atmosphere at the shrine.

All Necessary arrangements will remain in place till the end of the following friday.

We are committed to ensuring the comfort and safety of all the devotees during this sacred occasion,” waqf board official told JKNS.

The official further mentioned that special arrangements, including additional seating, security measures, and facilities for the elderly and differently-abled individuals, have been put in place to ensure a smooth experience for everyone attending the prayers.

In addition to the Waqf Board’s efforts, traffic authorities issued a detailed advisory to manage the large flow of vehicles and pedestrians around Hazratbal Shrine. A traffic department official explained, “A comprehensive road plan has been implemented to manage the traffic flow and ensure smooth entry and exit at Hazratbal Shrine. We have made arrangements for additional transport services, including special buses, to facilitate the movement of devotees. We urge all worshippers to follow the designated routes and cooperate with the traffic authorities for a hassle-free experience.”

The entire area around Hazratbal was adorned with lights, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere that further enhanced the spiritual ambiance of the occasion. The authorities’ efforts to ensure the safety and com…
