“I came here for a few days, but I learned a lot from Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and commitment,” Prabowo said in his official statement on Sunday, tempo.co reported.

President Prabowo said India is committed to reducing poverty and helping the weakest people. This commitment is a lesson for him, he said in a statement during the dinner.

“His (PM Modi’s) commitment to reducing poverty, helping the marginalized, and helping the weakest people is an inspiration for us,” said the Indonesian President.

President Prabowo said that he would study India’s experience in implementing the free meal program.

“We are sending technical teams, and we are currently running many programs that we think are good examples, and we want to learn from India’s experience,” he said.

The Indonesian President said that he would commit to accelerating strategic cooperation between Indonesia and India in various fields including health, pharmaceuticals, education, maritime security, and digital technology.

“I must say to my brothers and sisters, that this meeting, my visit, although very brief, is only four days, but I consider this very productive. We held a very intensive meeting and we had a substantive agreement and consensus,” President Prabowo said during the dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

In her remarks, President Murmu emphasized the importance of bilateral relations between Indonesia and India that have lasted for 75 years.

“Indonesia is our best friend. We share the same vision as a maritime population and partners in the Indo-Pacific region,” she said.

She also thanked President Prabowo for accepting the invitation to attend the celebration of Republic Day as the Chief Guest.

President Murmu recalled that 75 years ago, President Sukarno was the Guest of Honor on India’s first Republic Day in 1950.

Accompanying President Prabowo at the event were Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and the Indonesian Ambassador to New Delhi Ina Krisnamurthi.

President Prabowo also visited the Indian parliament building on Saturday.

As he arrived at the Parliament building the Indonesian President was greeted by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and other officials.

President Prabowo then reviewed the Plenary Hall of the Lok Sabha, and the Rajya Sabha.

The visit continued with a review of the art and culture gallery which displays a collection of traditional art from various regions in India.
