Special Lok Adalat on MACT and Bank Recovery Cases held at Sgr, B’gam, Pul & Gbl

SRINAGAR: The District Legal Services Authorities of Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama and Ganderbal under the aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority today organized a Special Lok Adalat on MACT and Bank Recovery Cases.

This initiative provided a platform for justice to the parties involved and highlighted the advantages of settling disputes through Lok Adalats. The Lok Adalat witnessed active participation from the legal fraternity, Officers & officials of Banks and litigants alike.

At Srinagar, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, organized a Special Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Mominabad, Srinagar.

The LokAdalat, aimed at amicably resolving Bank cases, was held under the direction of Jaffer Hussain Beg, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Srinagar, and under the supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Sub-judge/ Secretary DLSA Srinagar.

To facilitate the amicable settlement of cases, one bench was constituted for the said Special Lok Adalat, which settled maximum number of cases, marking a significant achievement in promoting peaceful and quick resolutions for Bank matters.

Overall 148 cases were taken up for settlement out of which 42 cases were amicably settled and Rs.5991379 was awarded as settlement amount in Bank Recovery Cases.

At Budgam, a Special Lok Adalat was today organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam at District Court Complex Budgam and at TLSC Magam and Beerwah.

The said Lok Adalat was organized under the Chairmanship of Om Prakash Bhagat, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Budgam and under the guidance of Secretary DLSA Budgam, Nusrat Ali Hakak.

Each Court had identified cases for the said Lok Adalat before hand and same were placed before three different benches constituted by DLSA Budgam for their settlement in the said Lok Adalat.

A total number of 43 MACT and Bank Recovery Cases were taken for their amicable settlement, out of which 17 cases were settled with a settled amount of Rs.26,55,065.

At Ganderbal, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal conducted a Special Lok-Adalat today under the direction and supervision of Abdul Nasir, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge), Ganderbal and under the guidance of Sheikh Babar Hussain, Secretary DLSA, Ganderbal.

To facilitate the settlement of pending MACT & Bank Recovery Cases through the said Special Lok-Adalat, one Bench was constituted for the amicable settlement.

Overall 24 cases were taken up for settlement out of which 22 cases were amicably settled and an amount of Rs.3,00,000 was realized as settlement amount.

At Pulwama, a Special Lok-Adalat was organized at District Court Complex & other sub-ordinate courts of the district under the Chairmanship of Manzoor Ahmad Zargar, (Special Judge NDPS) Incharge Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr.District & Sessions Judge), Pulwama and under the supervision of Mudasar Farooq Secretary DLSA Pulwama.

One bench was constituted for the said Lok Adalat that took up 13 cases, out which 03 cases were amicably settled.

An amount of Rs,4,65,000 was awarded as settlement amount.
