BANDIPORA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on Friday visited Ahamshareef Shrine to review and finalise the preparations for the upcoming observance of Shab-e-Meraj.
During the visit, the DC assessed various aspects of the arrangements and steps taken up to accommodate devotees during the auspicious occasion.
He emphasised the significance of seamless coordination among departments to ensure a smooth, peaceful, and spiritually enriching observance of Shab-e-Meraj.
While reviewing the arrangements, the DC underscored the need for all stakeholders to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing the requirements of devotees, urging them to ensure that all necessary amenities are in place for their convenience and comfort.
The DC also interacted with representatives of the Auqaf Committee and local residents to listen to their concerns, feedback and suggestions regarding the arrangements for the observance of Shab-e-Meraj. He directed the concerned to address any highlighted issues promptly.
Among others, the DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl; Assistant Commissioner Development Bandipora and Tehsildar.
Arrangements for Mehraj-un-Nabi (SAW) reviewed at Baramulla
For smooth and hassle free observation of upcoming religious occasion of Mehraj-un-Nabi (SAW), a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements was today held at Baramulla.
During the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Baramulla, Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina, who chaired the review emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.
He directed the concerned departments to make adequate arrangements for sanitation, uninterrupted water and power supply, and proper traffic management, particularly around mosques and shrines where large gatherings are expected.
Dr. Raina stressed the need for foolproof security arrangements and instructed the officials to ensure that the devotees face no inconvenience during the auspicious occasion. The Health Department was directed to keep medical teams and ambulances on standby, while the Municipal Council was tasked with maintaining cleanliness and illumination at key locations.
The ADC also urged the departments to address public grievances promptly and ensure that all arrangements are completed well in advance of the event.
The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police, Syed Yasir Qadri, Tehsildar Baramulla, officers from JSD, JKPDCL, Health, Municipal Council and other concerned officers.
Shab-i-Meraj preparations reviewed at Budgam
DC stresses on ensuring provision of all arrangements for smooth observance
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo today chaired a meeting to finalize arrangements for the ensuing auspicious occasion of Meraj-ul-Alam in district Budgam.
The meeting discussed threadbare preparations to be made for the celebrations of Shab-i- Meraj and responsibilities were assigned to different departments.
At the outset, the DC directed District police to ensure proper security at the religious places including Peth Makhama, Charar-i-Sharief and Pakherpora shrine and other major shrines of the district during the celebrations of the festival.
Further, he directed KPDCL Budgam for uninterrupted power supply and ensuring functioning of street lights at all significant places.
He instructed EOs of concerned Municipal Committees to carry out special cleanliness drives and proactive measures for proper sanitation in all areas.
Health authorities were instructed to ensure availability of staff and ambulances at all sub centers and ensure medical assistance at all designated places.
With regard to availability of ration, the DC directed AD FCS&CA to ensure timely supply and distribution of food grains, besides ensuring availability of essential commodities to the general public.
The DC also directed the ARTO to ensure hassle free availability of transport facility on the auspicious days and directed him to coordinate with the traffic department so that bottlenecks in smooth flow of traffic are removed.
During the meeting, the DC directed the Department of PHE to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply. They were also directed to provide additional water tankers at identified locations to augment the capacity.
To check illegal profiteering and hoarding in the markets, the DC directed SDMs to constitute squads which will monitor and conduct market checking drives to ensure sale of quality food items and check any hoarding or overpricing.
Besides, ADC Budgam, CPO, SDMs, DFO, CMO, Executive Engineer PDD, PHE, AD FCS&CA, AD Fisheries, DSP HQ, Budgam, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Cooperatives and EOs of Municipal Committees were present in the meeting.
DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for celebration of auspicious Shab-e-Meraj
In connection with celebration of upcoming Meraj-un-Nabi (SAW), the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired a meeting of Officers at DC Office Complex here, to finalize the arrangements being made by all line Departments for smooth conduct of the auspicious religious occasion.
Ayushi sought feedback from concerned Officers regarding the arrangements of electricity, water supply, cleanliness, fire service, transport, parking and medical facilities being put in place for celebration of the Shab-e-Meraj.
The DC directed the Officers of all line departments to ensure special arrangements for smooth observance of the auspicious occasion at the shrine of Muqam Shahwali and other prominent religious places for the devotees particularly during the intervening night (Shab) and on Friday Following.
With regard to adequate supply of water, the DC directed the PHE Department to ensure adequate water supply at the prominent religious places so that devotees do not face any inconvenience. Similarly, Executive Engineers of PDD were directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the auspicious occasion.
The MC officials were directed to ensure proper cleanliness around the mosques and shrines falling in Municipal areas of Kupwara and Handwara. Similarly, BDOs will ensure cleanliness in rural areas where large congregations of devotees are expected. Concerned DFOs were directed to arrange sufficient firewood for heating requirements.
The Tehsildars were directed to intensify market checking in all major markets of the district to ensure no illegal hoardings and overcharging is done.
The CMO Kupwara was asked to keep ambulances standby at main sites where large congregations are expected as per past practice.
With regard to Traffic and Parking facilities, the DC directed the ARTO Kupwara and Traffic Police authorities for ensuring hassle-free traffic movement of the devotees, besides making adequate facilities at the designated place for parking of the vehicles.
