Srinagar: As Jammu and Kashmir parts record chilly night temperatures, Drass recorded the lowest temperature at -18.8°C on monday.

While weather predictions indicate a three-day spell of wet weather across Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from January 20 to 23, with snowfall likely in higher reaches and rain in plains.

An official from meteorological department Srinagar told news agency JKNS, In the Kashmir, Srinagar recorded -3.2°C, Qazigund -3.0°C, Pahalgam -6.4°C, Kupwara -1.4°C, Kokernag -2.4°C, and Gulmarg -5.4°C. Sonamarg shivered at -6.7°C, while Budgam stood at -3.9°C, Ganderbal -2.4°C, and Pulwama -4.3°C. Anantnag recorded -2.8°C, Khudwani -4.7°C, Kulgam -3.0°C, Shopian -5.0°C, and Larnoo -5.6°C. Bandipora’s temperature was not available.

In the Jammu, Jammu city registered 9.6°C, while Banihal recorded 0.7°C, Batote 3.9°C, and Katra 10.2°C. Bhaderwah stood at 2.0°C, Kishtwar 2.9°C, Padder -6.0°C, and Ramban 6.5°C. Poonch recorded 4.4°C, Rajouri 3.7°C, Samba 7.5°C, Kathua 10.5°C, Reasi 7.4°C, and Udhampur 6.1°C.

Meanwhile, Leh recorded -7.8°C, Kargil -12.4°C, and Drass plunged to an icy -18.8°C.

The meteorological department has predicted 3 day wet spell starting from today afternoon.

MET official said, on 20 and 21st Jan, Generally cloudy with possibility of Light Rain/ Snow at scattered places.

On 22nd Jan, Generally cloudy with the possibility of Light to moderate Rain (Plains of Jammu)/Snow at many places, official said.

Higher reaches of Chenab valley & Pir Panjal Range may also recieve light to moderate Snow.

While on 23rd Jan, Generally cloudy with possibility of Light Rain (Plains of Jammu)/Snow at scattered places.

While advising, Tourists/travellers/Transporters to follow Admin/Traffic advisory. (JKNS)
